This downtown Guangzhou restaurant promotes a healthy lifestyle, advocating locally sourced, organic ingredients to produce healthy, salad based meals.
The design inspiration comes from rural farmscapes. While farms are traditionally wide open, expansive areas, they are also enclosed by boundary fencing. The paradox this creates represents both spaciousness and privacy.
We studied the many fencing designs found on farms, abstracted the patterns and used them to inform the dining area, defining boundaries and creating a series of spaces that are at once private and yet part of an expansive whole.
